Registration tent
Registration and gear pick up will be held in marquees on Point Lonsdale Road adjacent to the pedestrian crossing, Pasquini’s café and the playground. Road closures on Point Lonsdale Road will occur from 6 am with registration open from 8 am (see below).
All registrations should be completed online through Race Roster.
If you’re planning to decide on the day, please complete the online registration form before arriving at the registration tent. This will help avoid delays due to possible Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
IMPORTANT - STAGGERED REGISTRATION TIMES
To ensure a smooth and efficient registration process and timely collection of timing tags, we’re trialling staggered registration times:
🕗 8:00 am – 3.8 km Swim
🕘 9:00 am – Groyne to Groyne
🕙 10:00 am – 1.4 km, Juniors & Grand Masters
🕚 11:00 am – All remaining swims
Swimmers competing in more than one event only need to register once.
Shuttle bus
We will have a dedicated shuttle bus service, ferrying swimmers between the Queenscliff-Sorrento Ferry Terminal (Queenscliff), starting points for the 1.4km (and event parking) and 3.8km swims and the Event Centre/Finish line precinct. The busses will run throughout the day, following the below timetables.
A full downloadable version is available here.
Please note that this timetable is subject to change.
Event parking
We have dedicated event parking at Royal Park. There will be shuttle bus transport available from Royal Park to the Event Centre/registration desk.
While parking is free, we appreciate any donations to the Point Lonsdale SLSC.
Swim Courses
The 3.8km swim course will be marked with yellow cone-shaped buoys. Keep the yellow buoys on your right throughout the whole 3.8km swim! When the 3.8km swim course joins the 1.4km swim course, you'll see a "gate" made up of a pink buoy on the left and a yellow buoy on the right. You need to swim between the pink and yellow buoys to have your time recorded or receive a placing - if you cut the corner (ie. swim to the left of the pink buoy, you will be disqualified from the event). Once you are on the 1.4km swim course, continue to keep the yellow buoys on your right. As you approach the finish line, you'll see another gate with a pink buoy on the left and the last yellow buoy on the right. Swim between these buoys, continue onto the beach and through our finishing arch.
The 1.4km course will again be clearly marked with a series of yellow buoys. Keep the yellow buoys on your right at all times as you complete the course. As you approach the finish line, you will see a finishing “gate” with a pink buoy on the left and the last yellow buoy on the right. Swim between these buoys, continue onto the beach and through our finishing arch.
The 600m course will be marked with smaller yellow swim “cans”. As you approach the finish line, you will see a finishing “gate” with a pink buoy on the left and the last yellow buoy on the right. Swim between these buoys, continue onto the beach and through our finishing arch. The great thing about the 600m swim is that you can see the whole course from the start line and it is really easy to follow.
Declaration of Boating Activity Exemption
Swimmers will commence in waves with up to 350 competitors in the water at any one time. Most swimmers are expected to complete the short course in approximately 15-40 minutes and the longer swim within 1.5 hours. Any swimmers visibly suffering from fatigue may be stopped by water safety who will assess if it is safe to continue.
Starting Order
The 3.8km swim will start at 09:30 am from Santa Casa beach (buses will be available from registration).
The first wave of the 600m swim will start at 11:00 am, a short walk along the Point Lonsdale promenade from registration.
The first age group in the 1.4km event will commence at 11.50 am, and the final age group will conclude at approximately 2.20 pm.
